Our Small Origin Story

Originally CALPAW started out as a small group of individuals interested in caring for, and providing services for animals in California. Many of these animals were left alone while their owners traveled. Our group sought to provide comfort and care for these animals.

As our group continued to grow, we realized the need to formulate a corporate structure, in order to operate as an actual business. Over time, our goals have shifted beyond directly caring for animals, and into supporting those like ourselves who must navigate the non-profit structuring process.

In essence, we wish to help others who followed our journey, by volunteering and serving, yet eventually needing more structure and discipline do their practice.
